Certified B Corp Web Hosting
(But we host non-B Corps too!)

We’re proud to be part of a growing community of forward-thinking businesses that include Patagonia, Danone and Innocent, redefining the definition of “success” to put planet and people on a par with profit. We’re doubly proud that Krystal was the first public cloud (in Katapultopens in a new tab) to certify in the world.
What is a B Corp?
Certified B Corporations or ‘B Corps’, are a concept of B Lab, a non-profit network with a mission to transform the global economy to benefit people, communities and the planet (the B stands for ‘Benefit’). Certified B Corps are companies verified by B Lab to meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability.
As B Corps we balance profit and purpose, working towards a greater end - a global economy that uses business as a force for good. We commit to positively impact ALL stakeholders – workers, communities, customers and our planet. With over 6,000 B Corporations spread across 89 countries, and more than 1,100 headquartered in the UK alone, it’s a movement that’s growing fast.

How did Krystal become a B Corp?
Krystal exists to be a vehicle for positive change, so B Corp certification was the next natural step for us. But it didn’t happen overnight. It required a thorough analysis of our business and operations, from supply chain and input materials to charitable giving and employee benefits.
First, we had to submit an initial assessment (BIA). This gave us a clear idea of our current position and helped us plot out what we needed to do in order to become B Corp. To qualify, we needed to score at least 80 out of 200 points in a self-conducted performance assessment focusing on B Corp’s five key categories: governance, workers, customers, community and the environment.
Once we’d completed the assessment, B Lab verified our score, carefully analysing and verifying our performance in each key area.
We were then given a direct contact at B Lab who worked with us over the next ten months, auditing our business and reviewing our policy & standards. This was to ensure we passed the rigorous standards needed to become certified along with the legal accountability requirement. The entire review and accreditation process took over 15 months! So if you’re thinking about it our advice would be to get started as soon as possible. There are also plenty of “B Leaders” out there who specialise in helping companies on the journey.
We’re delighted to achieve our B Corp certification, but getting certified is just the beginning. The real work starts now.

As businesses we must be active agents for positive change. We can’t rely on governments to take the lead. Businesses have the resources, talent and drive to take the initiative. The B Corp movement seeks to codify this intent and bring together businesses of all kinds towards a common goal.
By using Krystal services, you automatically support the B Corp movement and help make a difference. Our profits go into two main things: improving our service and making the world a better place for future generations. We have no shareholders to satisfy, and we pay no dividends. Our stakeholders are our clients, our staff and the planet.
